Southern Pacific- SP 7307 – SD40R Cresting Cascade Summit ,Oregon in 1985

In this video you can see Southern Pacific’s SP 7307 cresting Cascade Summit in August of 1985. She’s an old SD40 built in 1966 and later rebuilt. In this video you’re looking at the North or railroad East switch of Cascade Summit siding at mile pole 536.8. At mile pole 537.5 is the official crest of the grade from 1.7 percent to 0 percent.
