It’s not an everyday thing to see a dead beaver along the highway in Oregon. This Beaver was found dead along Highway 126 in Oregon on March 23, 2015. It looks as if the Beaver tried crossing the Highway from Coyote Creek near Fern Ridge Reservoir. Beavers once had a population in North America of more than 100 million. Almost extirpated in the 1800s due to trapping, but now have reached a population of an estimated 15 million because of conservation efforts. Oregon has been known as the Beaver State since 1969. Beavers play a pivotal role in Oregon’s ecosystem.
